Lowedges Community & Safety Forum was set up to meet the needs of the Lowedges Community, in particular to do the following:

• To promote any charitable purposes for the benefit of the community in Lowedges and in particular the advancement of education.
  
  
• The protection of health and the relief of poverty, distress and sickness.
  
  
• To promote for the public benefit - in partnership with the police - the protection of people and property by the prevention of criminal acts, in particular by the encouragement of greater public participation in the prevention and solution of crime, and in the provision of education, information and practical assistance in crime prevention to the community.

To meet these aims we are involved in a variety of projects and services in the area, some of which are described in more detail in this website.

The Forum is a member of the Lowedges, Batemoor and Jordanthorpe Community Safety Partnership, whose membership includes South Yorkshire Police, Sheffield Homes, Sheffield Futures, Library Service, Residents and Tenants Associations, South West Primary Care Trust, Schools and local voluntary and community organisations.

The group meets quarterly under the Chairmanship of Cllr Tony Holmes, and deals with a number of community safety issues including local crime trends and statistics, youth nuisance, the neighbourhood warden service, and crime prevention initiatives such as CCTV in shopping precincts and home security measures.

Lowedges Community & Safety Forum was set up in 1995 to meet the needs of the local community. The Forum is now involved in a large number of projects and services in the area.
